AQUIPTA is a privately-funded prescription medicine, available at a special price via Airport Oaks Pharmacy (Auckland) and Avalon Pharmacy (Wellington), who can courier anywhere in New Zealand.

There are 3 simple steps to access AQUIPTA at the special price:

Step 1: Visit your GP or specialist

Your healthcare professional will determine if AQUIPTA is right for you, and that you are willing to pay for the prescription.

Step 2: Ensure your script is sent to Pharmacy

To access the special price, your doctor must send the e-script to an Airport Oaks Pharmacy or Avalon Pharmacy.

Step 3: Collect or receive your AQUIPTA

The Pharmacy will contact you to coordinate payment and your delivery/collection preferences.

The maximum price charged to you will be NZ$352.80 (inclusive of GST) for a 60 mg x 28 tablet pack (28-day supply). Courier charges may apply, as required (typically $6-12 for metro vs rural deliveries, as of December 2025, and subject to change based on NZ Post pricing).

Beyond Airport Oaks and Avalon Pharmacy, AQUIPTA is also available for private purchase with a script from any other pharmacy. It is suggested that you check the price with the selected pharmacy, as prices may vary. If a pharmacy would like details, they can contact AbbVie on 0800 900 030.

AQUIPTA is a prescription medicine, available as tablets containing 60 mg of atogepant. It is used to prevent migraine in patients who have at least 4 migraine days per month.¹

Do not use AQUIPTA if you have ever had an allergic reaction to atogepant or any of the ingredients.¹

Before you use AQUIPTA, tell your doctor if you have: allergies to any medicines, foods, preservatives or dyes; have any liver or kidney problems; take any medicines for any other condition; are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant; or are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.¹

Tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant while taking AQUIPTA or if you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of face, itching, rash, or hives.¹

Go straight to the Emergency Department of your nearest hospital if you notice any signs of serious allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, itching, red rash or hives.¹

Tell your doctor and other health care professionals if you are taking any other medicines, including any medicines, vitamins or supplements that you buy without a prescription from your pharmacy, supermarket or health food shop. Some medicines may affect how AQUIPTA works or may increase the risk of getting side effects.¹

Common side effects: Tell your doctor if you experience any side effects that make you feel unwell. Common side effects of AQUIPTA include decreased appetite, nausea, constipation, drowsiness (sleepiness) and tiredness.¹
